Well, I guess the cartoon speaks for itself. Wolrd is a difficult place to be. So many sad situations and difficulties make living absolutely not easy. But Jesus already warned us, and, as a free gift, he promissed us strength to figth and win.
“These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Many people say that life will be just paradise when we live with Jesus, but that’s not true. Christ didn’t lie to us, he said life would be hard. Sometimes its really hard to keep believing when things aren’t going the way we wished they were. But we got to have the certainity that He is with us. Yeah, some situations are so dark that it looks like He’s abandoned us completely, that he has left us alone through the valley of the shadows of death. But we gotta know that GOD NEVER LETS GO ON US! He said to Joshua
“Be strong and courageous; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: for THE LORD YOUR GOD IS WITH YOU WHEREVER YOU GO.” Joshua 1:9
God has a purpose to every single human being on earth (“For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11), but tribulations will come so that our faith will be tested. We might not understand why something is happening, but HE HAS A PURPOSE . Sometimes we can’t see His plans because our mind is infinetely inferior to his, and because sin blinds us.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
Problems come so that the name of God can be glorified through our victory. When his children overcome a difficult situation, the Lord is glorified. That’s another reason why we should never give up, so that the name of our God may be glorified.
He is worthy of all glory, not only because He made the universe or because He’s almighty and so on, but also because He sent His only beggoten son to die for our sin, so that we could have eternal life! He still makes wonders all around the world! He still cures, heals lives, frees from vices, saves souls. God is here, He’s always with us by our side, no matter what we do. Even if we mess it all up, He is still forgiving.
The first Christians went through a really hard time in the first Century. They were killed for their faith. But Peter in his letters (which are books of the bible) told them to hold on tight to Jesus, and that Jesus would give them stength to do it. And guess what? They made it! Many of them were slaughtered for believing in Christ, BUT their faith was so strong that the pagans were convinced that Jesus Christ is the son of God, who died for humanity! Their example was so strong that it Christianity was spread throughout the whole word, and now we on the other side of the world can listen to that message of hope and truth!
God helped them making it, and His name is glorified because of that untill our days. God honored them. Many of them didn’t understand why they had to be through so hard situations, but they just trusted God, trusted that He had a plan, that He was ALWAYS with them. They held on and because of that we’ll meet thouse courageous guys in the Kingdom of Heavens, being honored and honoring the God who made the universe.
So, when things are so dark that we can’t what’s in front of us, let’s just hold on! Ask for more power and keep fighting! And when we’re in the weakest stage, that’s when God reveals more his power. Sometimes troubles are God showing us that we cannot go on by ourselves, that we need him.And when we recognise this and pray to him, he renews our strength.
